This article was awful. Fieschi tries to day Americans have this fascination with monarchy (alluding to George Washington suggested to be a king) that bleeds through to the Presidential transition of power. She writes this from an actual monarchy, and somehow tries to point a finger across the Atlantic to say look at these fools.

She then tries to say that the United Kingdom doesn't do this because there is a "careful staging of what is expected of government and of the pragmatic values by which it is expected to abide." As if the UK was better somehow that it distinguishes between government and a monarchy.

This was a completely ridiculous article that should never have seen the light of day in any magazine. It looks like a silly blog post that some random person posts just to mess with people. Wow.
