I'm becoming more of a fan of this style of writing: a mix between history, politics, and autobiography. When the author writes about their personal experience, it kind of attaches issues that may be very distant into something that you think you know personally. Sorry to hear it's so difficult to rebuild, but there is an optimistic outlook to how community does come together in times of need.
